Breathing is a natural and automatic process, but when we learn to pay attention to our breath and utilize different breathing techniques, we can tap into a deeper sense of calm, focus, power, and natural energy within ourselves. This workshop offers an education & exploration of breath practices & movements to deepen your understanding and relationship to your breath. Learn the foundational anatomy & physiology of how breath moves in your body, how it affects your physical energy, mental state, emotions, and over-all well-being. Then enjoy a yoga asana practice that will help open the body to experience a deeper and fuller breath, followed by a selection of pranayama (breath techniques) to enhance your connection to, and experience the many different benefits that breath awareness and control can bring. You’ll leave with the tools to relieve physical & mental tension, and shift your emotional state, all on your own through some simple postures and breath awareness practices that you can use in your daily life.
Breanna brings a unique and strong support to this work through her many years of study and experience as a yoga teacher, registered nurse, and yoga practitioner. This workshop is accessible for most people with some basic yoga experience: modifications and options are given for movements and postures to suit any body, and there is no previous breath practice experience necessary.
